Burt’s Bees Baby

Website Redesign & Replatform

My Role: Creative Director

Project Overview

Established in 2012, Burt’s Bees Baby’s sells organic, durable and stylish clothing for babies and children. They came to us in need of a fully responsive website redesign as well as a replatform.

Originally starting the project with our agency pdsCommerce, our company soon disbanded leaving Burt’s Bees Baby in limbo. Having a great relationship with the client, I single-handedly continued the website design where we left off. Roughly two months later, the final prototypes, assets and annotations were provided to the client to hand-off to their internal developers.

Gathering Information

Before diving into the design, I provided a Creative Planner for the client to complete. This robust document covers company philosophy, team roles, branding, assets and expectations. We took this information, distributed to the rest of the team, and then compiled a plan moving forward.

Website Analysis

A website analysis was conducted on the existing Burt’s Bees Baby website before the project took place. This consisted of design, usability, SEO, taxonomy and more. The document provided a starting point and understanding to the team and client.

Delivery

I provided the client with prototypes as desktop, tablet and mobile designs, assets, a style guide and all necessary fonts.

Final Thoughts

I am extremely proud of this project, having been the only designer involved with such a well known company and product. Even after our agency came to an end, the client continued to work with me (and only me). In the end, the client was very impressed with my work.
